Organization Purpose Sigma Sigma Upsilon or Strong Sisters United, is a sisterhood of Feminists! We believe that women across the world should be equal to their male counterparts. We are a unique sisterhood of dedicated African-American women.The purpose of this organization is to increase the popularity of our common interests. We hope to add new members so we will be able to grow and expand. We also want to have fun while when we are together and working on projects. By developing relationships and friendships, the organization will become even stronger. We in no way try to emulate any other organization, social club, or sorority. SSU is follows its own standards and doctrines. We are an organization of women who are serious about uplifting themselves as well as her fellow sister. Our Mission Our mission is to further promote the interests of our organization and our members to the community. We strive to make a difference by educating the public and expanding our reach. Ways in which the women of SSU take on that task are numerous. Members dedicate and volunteer their time to causes and agencies that are for and about the betterment of women. Overall, what needs to be stressed about our sisterhood is that everyday we address and form ways to eradicate all forms of discrimination, hate, and sexism. |
